This year, we were the hosts for the annual RCPAAA/RCFAAA Joint "Picnic" which has been going on for many years. The 2026 Picnic was held in the RPD's Multi Purpose Room on Thursday, September 10th. We use the word "picnic" with a wink of the eye since September was still HOT, so in the interest of comfort, it was decided to be inside. BUT we still cooked the food outside.

Jill Burt was in charge of the festivities and she was assisted by the always eager to help, Alicia Marshall. Larry Chrisman, our Treasurer, in the background making sure all the nickles and dimes were well spent. 

In addition to the RCPAAA, RCFAAA, and RPD members dining on the great food, our own RPD Cadets (formerly called Explorers) also were invited. After all, what teen can resist hamburgers and hotdogs.

A new page has been added to the website listing the Scholarship Awards since the program began in 2006. Also where the information is available, the Scholarship Committee members are listed as well. This new page can be found under "What We Do" then "Scholarship Fund" and then "Scholarship History".

The Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association serves as a bridge between the community and the Richardson Police Department. Our organization is committed to fostering positive relationships, promoting community engagement, supporting public safety initiatives, and providing meaningful opportunities for continued learning and service.

As alumni, we have the unique privilege of gaining insight into the challenges and responsibilities of modern policing. Through educational programs, volunteer opportunities, special events, and community outreach efforts, we continue to strengthen our understanding of public safety while supporting the dedicated men and women of the Richardson Police Department.

Our members come from diverse backgrounds, but we share a common goal: building a safer, stronger, and more connected community. Whether you are looking to stay informed, volunteer your time, meet fellow alumni, or simply remain engaged with the department, there is a place for you in RCPAAA.
